For a week +. I've been using it between our iPhones and iPads and the stock charging adapters, and it disconnects automatically once the device reaches a full charge. In the product instructions, there is a note to make sure your Battery Optimization setting is turned off to prevent the device from disconnecting the charger at 80%. Oddly enough, I did not change any settings on our devices, yet they are all charging to 100%. As mentioned, this is a very targeted use case device, but one that appeals greatly to my wife. She says I always worry about water damage while she always worries about fire. Using this device to aid charging overnight makes her feel much better due to the physical disconnect from the charging adapter.

When I first plugged it in, I ran into a bit of a snag because I completely skipped reading the instructions. It kept cutting the power off and ejecting when my phone was only halfway charged, which was frustrating at first. After doing a bit of troubleshooting, I realized the issue was actually on my end. I had to go into my phone settings and adjust the power saving options so they would stop interfering with the plug. Once I made that quick tweak, the adapter started working exactly how it was supposed to, shutting down the current once my battery was topped off. It is easy to use and a really cool concept and works great once you get it set up.

All I can say is - it works! And it’s really fun to watch! Terrific value for the money. I really believe that you will not regret this purchase. And the looks of admiration you’ll see. Ha! You’ll be the only Glenda in a room of Elphabas. Eh, you know what I mean. People will be green with envy and all that.

This is especially important with hard tile floors compared with thick carpet. Make good choices, folks. This tiny square looks well made and works like a more expensive power disconnector. It’s a quality piece but only as durable as you are smart.
